Jackson, Jarvis and I made the trip back home Wednesday before Thanksgiving. This year Thanksgiving was extra special and blessed by having this new bundle of joy in our lives. The first week at home, although challenging with the lack of sleep, was fun and exciting. Jackson definitely has a little personality that is starting to emerge. We could sit and daze at him for hours. Key highlights this week:
- I witnessed his first chuckle in his sleep
- Sunday daddy and Jackson watched football
- Spaulding is trying to figure out what the crying is all about
- Jackson met his uncle, auntie and three nephews
- Jackson is gaining weight like a champ, he gained 7 oz just 5 days after his birth and is tipping the scale at 6 lb 10 oz

Jackson's First Dr. Visit
Two days after we were discharged from the hospital, our Pediatrician asked that we bring Jackson in for a quick check. Jackson received his first shot, where of course he screamed and was weighed. He is gaining weight like a champ! Just 5 days after he was born he has already surpassed his birth weight, weighing in at 6 lbs 10 oz. Typically it can take a week to two weeks for newborns to get back to their birth weight. Let's just say Jackson is a healthy eater.:-)

Jackson Riley Arrives...
Jackson Riley graced us with his presence November 23rd at 3:27 am. He was a wittle wittle thing weighing in at 6 lbs 3 oz. Labor was tough but seeing him made it worth the struggle. We are so blessed to have him and cannot wait to take him home!

3 Long Funfilled Weekends and We're Done
April and her mom came back this weekend to help finish Baby J's mural. What an amazing masterpiece!!!! Jarvis and I are so happy with the final product, it is truly more than we could have ever imagined. Baby J is going to love meeting his new friends, Bella the Elephant, Kiyah the Giraffe and Zach the monkey. He of course is the Lion, the leader of the pack:-)

My Spa-Themed Baby Shower
Toria and Tanja threw me a spa-themed baby shower in Dallas. It was definitely a hit with the ladies. We all got to make our own spa treatments from recipes Tanja found online.

7 1/2 Months - 32 Weeks
Baby J is now more active than ever. Mostly rolling around from side to side with the occassional jab in my side. This month he started to get the hiccups several times a day. Apparently the hiccups are harmless to the baby and are supposed to help prepare their lungs for life outside the womb. We are definitely getting more excited and are anxiously waiting to meet our little one.

3D/4D Is So Real
Today Jarvis and I went to Stork Vision today to do a 3D/4D ultrasound of Baby J. The place was really nice, I wish the Dr's office was as inviting as this place. It felt like you were in an actual bedroom. We were able to see Baby J's image and movement on a flat screen in color (see images on right). He was head down as usual with his face pressed against my lower abdomen. The clearer pictures are when he was cooperating and moving around.:-) We were so excited leaving this place. The imaging is so real it made us want to meet our little one today. :-)

And Baby Makes 3

Jarvis surprised me on my 32nd birthday weekend with a full day at the Four Seasons spa and dinner at Bolla, a new restaurant at the Stonleigh hotel. He thought he had me fooled but when I asked what direction we were headed and he said, "Las Colinas," I knew there was only one place out that way that I could possibly spend 4 hours at.
This was our first birthday celebration with Baby J. Although still inside his protected world, I know he enjoyed the day of relaxation and good food!

18 Weeks... Almost Halfway There:-)
Still trying to squeeze into my regular wardrobe, however the selection is wearing thin. Baby J is active at night when I'm lying down watching TV. Small, but quick butterfly movements that are mostly felt when I am still. I've felt a few movements at work while sitting at my desk. Looking forward to the bigger movements.:-)
